Qualifying for a One Portal Website
Requirements to Qualify
In order to qualify for a website on One Portal, you will need:
- Approval from your Department Head or Department Manager.
- A single point of contact, known as the website owner.This person will be appointed by the department to work with the Web Center for creation and maintenance.
- Information that supports the goal of One Portal, which is to share and discover corporate knowledge. Your website must contribute to the pool of corporate knowledge by sharing department, office, committee or program information that is relevant to the organization.
- A specific, measurable goal or objective in mind for sharing this corporate knowledge. Each of the examples below are measurable examples of current goals that we monitor by using an analytics system. The team watches for trends and ensures we’re accomplishing the goals for the different areas.
- For example, your information may help users:
- Find contact information to make a call or send an email.
- Find the answer to a question.
- Request a service from your team.
- Find a resource, such as a video or manual.
- Learn more about what your team does.
- Collect information from clients or customers to streamline interdepartmental processes.
Alternatives to a Web Presence
If you find that you have a short term need that does not justify a web presence, the Web Center can still help. We can work with you and the Internal Communications team to identify alternate methods to meet your business needs. Getting Your Request Started
If you’re ready to request a One Portal website, complete a Web Support Request Form to create a new page. This form is available in the footer of One Portal.
More information will be provided once we have received your request, ensured you have leadership approval and identified a website owner.
