Masking Requirements

[revised as of August 24, 2023]

Clinical employees and students on clinical rotations

Effective April 3, 2023, the California Department of Public Health ended the COVID-19 indoor masking policies in high-risk and healthcare settings. Staff, visitors, and patients in these settings are no longer required to mask while indoors. As part of providing clinical care, we want to respect our patients’ choices, and if they would like their healthcare providers to wear a mask, we ask you to do so. For those who would like to continue to wear a mask, you may also do so. If you have questions, please speak with your manager.

Masking requirement for non-clinical care settings

No masks required.

Eye Coverings/shields

Staff who would like to wear an eye/face shield should request them from their supervisor.  Staff may also bring them from home as long as they do not contain logos.  If provided at work, the employee is responsible for care of the shield and it is expected to be kept clean and reused.
