Maternity Services
Our Purpose
The Maternity Services, as a part of the Perinatal Institute at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, provides nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum women and newborns. Maternity Services provides competent and safe care to childbearing women and their newborns. This includes all pregnant women who need care for their pregnancy or care for a condition that may have an impact on their pregnancy, delivery, or postpartum period. It also includes care for their newborns, not requiring intensive care.
Staffing is provided by registered nurses in a total care nursing system to ensure the provision for quality of care. Our RN staff is assisted by unit secretaries and perinatal technicians.
Our goal at Maternity Services is to deliver optimal care to infants and their mothers in accordance with the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative.
