Our Purpose
The Children’s Hospital Emergency Department is a state of the art, 26- bed tertiary care unit dedicated exclusively to both medical and surgical pediatric emergencies. As the only level One Pediatric Trauma Center for five counties we are able to care for a vast array of both traumatic and medical emergencies 24/7. Nurses have the opportunity to work alongside an extensive multidisciplinary team in rapidly evolving environment. Opportunities for professional growth include becoming Trauma Nurse Core Course & Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certified, precepting, team leading, peer support programs, community involvement and endless educational opportunities.
