Who must wear a dosimeter?
California Code of Regulations, Title 17, requires that all employees who are likely to exceed 10% of the occupational exposure limit or who enter a high radiation area be monitored for radiation exposure.
The occupational exposure limits are:

Whole Body - 5 rem (5,000 mrem)/year

Lens of the Eye - 15 rem (15,000 mrem)/year

Skin of the Whole Body - 50 rem (50,000 mrem)/year

Extremities - 50 rem (50,000 mrem)/year

Embryo/Fetus in Declared Pregnant Worker - 0.5 rem (500 mrem)/9 months
