Your First 90 Days

Day 1 – Welcome to Loma Linda University Health

  • Employee gives manager the TB Test Clearance form (Employee Health Vaccination TB Surveillance Record)
  • Introduction to immediate team members and workspace
  • Review work , lunch, and Holiday schedules , as applies to employee
  • Orientation Day - When? Where? (Acknowledgement form will be sent to Manager after completion)
  • Review API time tracking system Website link; quick guide
  • Review Campus map and Parking access and guidelines
  • Review New Hire Packet:
  • Compliance Requirements (Blue Book, HIPAA, Compliance Corporate, Compliance CMS, etc.) using OWL portal, fire extinguisher, office safety protocols (panic button, emergency exits/evacuation plans, safe room)
  • One Portal to find additional resources - our organizational area = LLUSS.  Recommend to start at Advancement New Employee Toolkit
  • Specific department overview
  • Major institution initiatives and campaigns
  • Meetings: Advancement Team Meeting (ATM), Worship, A-Team events

Week 1

  • Introduction to Advancement Team at your location (MVP, Magan Hall, Welcome Center, etc.).
  • Campus Tour by manager or co-worker (short drive around)
  • Office overview (supplies, maintenance requests, etc.)
  • Computer access:  Medical Center or LLU Network for Login information
  • Important Phone #s:  IS Medical Center 48889 or Service Request; CNS is telephone (check with manager for additional information)
  • Department-specific software/hardware training
  • Portrait (Manager schedules through LLUSD Carmen Fernandez)
  • Employee-prepared introductory paragraph to be shared with Advancement (Manager sends to Rachelle Bussell’s office jroth@llu.edu to distribute)
  • Expense Reports preparation (mileage, other approved expenses; see manager)
  • Mobile Phone and iPad set up, if applicable
  • Performance Manager
  • Advancement learning resources: Chronicle of Philanthropy (create account to access) and CASE (create account to access)

30-day

  • Progress check-in with manager
  • Benefits reminder: Sign up for Health Care Plan
  • Second TB test, if needed (Occupational Health should inform)
  • Campus Tours through Welcome Center  (Mary Clement)
  • Gallup – StrengthsFinder  (Myrna Hanna)
  • Employee Survey (annually)
  • Performance Manager - ensure have signed Job Description in system

60-day

  • Progress check-in with Manager
  • Advancement Taskforce Assignment

90-day

  • 90-Day Performance Evaluation (Manager sets meeting several days prior.  Manager prepares review and may send self-review to employee through Performance Manager)
  • Review Merit Increase structure, Christmas Bonus (if applicable), etc.
  • Benefits Reminder: Life Insurance
  • Review other eligible benefits listed in Benefits Outline
  • Order Business Cards, if hasn’t been completed (Manager sends requisition to Printing Services)
  • Metal Name Badge for Events (Manager, see Alumni and Donor Relations)
