Radiation Safety Introduction
The Radiation Safety Program at the LLUMC Proton Treatment Facility is consistent in every way with the institution-wide Radiation Safety Program as outlined in the LLUMC Radiation Safety Manual. The main element of the Radiation Safety Program is the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) concept. ALARA is attained through both administrative and engineering controls.
