Information security refers to all the protections in place to ensure the safety of our organization’s electronic data. Under the HIPAA Security rule, this means ensuring the confidentiality, integrity (i.e., data is not improperly altered or destroyed) and availability (to authorized individuals) of electronic protected health information (ePHI). Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) and its related entities must address and oversee a number of areas including: Computer hardware, Software, Personnel policies, Computer usage policies, Information practice policies, Physical security, and Disaster preparedness.
