LLUMC-Murrieta (LLUH) Nursing Professional Practice Model

- LLUH uses the Duffy Quality-Caring Model
- The foundation of the Duffy QCM is that the nature of nursing’s work is the development of a caring relationship that “influences positive health outcomes for patients and families, healthcare providers and healthcare systems” (Duffy & Hoskins, 2003).
- Ultimately this relationship assists nurses in connecting and gaining insight in order to understand the meaning of illness, beliefs, and preferences of patients, families, and other team members.
