Professional Practice Model (PPM)
The following components define who we are and how we practice nursing.
The nursing Professional Practice Model (PPM) highlights nursing practices throughout Loma Linda University Health hospitals.

- The PPM is based on nursing theorist Joanne Duffy’s quality caring theory, which links professional nursing practice to quality health outcomes.
- In connection with our Nursing Strategic Plan pillars, these components form our model of nursing excellence, with patient centered care and exceptional outcomes at the core of the model.
The PPM supports LLUH values and illustrates how we care for our patients, each other, and ourselves. It applies to ALL nurses throughout the system.
