LLUH RN Residency Program
The year-long LLUH RN Residency Program is based on full-time employment that helps the new graduate RN navigate their new role. The RN Residency program is a means for new graduate nurses to be trained and equipped for bedside care in various settings. Within this program, we are committed to empower the new graduate to deliver safe, effective, and quality patient care into the clinical setting as a healthcare professional.
RN Residents are recently graduated nurses with an RN license and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
We offer three to four cohorts per year. Different specialty options allow nurse residents to work in areas that match their interests and career goals.
As a new RN, we guide the transition into professional practice by supporting orientation and ongoing professional development needs. Throughout the year, there will be a focus on time management, communication skills, critical thinking, ethical decision making, interprofessional team membership, and building an emotional toolkit.
Additionally, our RN Residents benefit from:
- Experienced preceptors who provide support and guidance
- Competency assessment that ensures safe clinical care is provided to our patients
- Debriefing sessions with reflection exercises that allow for peer support and nurture resident well-being
- Mentorship to facilitate professional development and lifelong learning
- Specialty training at the department level
