• The provider's name
• The statement Loma Linda University Medical Center Office of Staff Development is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. LLUMC Office of Staff Development maintains responsibility for this program and its contents.
• Number of hours the course is approved for
• The provider's refund policy.
• A clear, concise description of the course content and objectives.
• A personal disclosure statement if either the instructor or provider has a personal financial interest in the course content.
• The full statement “Loma Linda University Medical Center Office of Staff Development is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. LLUMC Office of Staff Development maintains responsibility for this program and its contents. This event meets the qualifications for _______ hours of continuing education credit for psychologists as required by the American Psychological Association" must be included in all advertisements.

• The phrase "Category A continuing education credit" should be used to describe approval of an educational activity. This is the phrase technologists look for in selecting CE activities.
• Do not use the terms ECE.
• A sponsor's advertising or promotional material cannot claim a course is approved unless the course has received an approved reference number. If an application for credit approval has been sent to the ASRT, then a sponsor can state "Category A CE credit is pending approval by the ASRT" in advertising or promotional material.

  Our provider number does not cover outside attendees, therefore if we open the course to outside Radiology Professionals, we need to submit different paperwork and $50.00 fee.

Advertisement information used by Continuing Education Providers (CEP's) to advertise continuing education courses must include the information noted in Title 16, CCR, Section 1459. CEP's are reminded about the following provisions:

• The full statement "Loma Linda University Medical Center, Staff Development is a Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 00239, this program is approved for _____ contact hours." must be included in all advertisements.
• Provider's policy regarding refunds (including time lines) for non-attendance by the registrant. A clear, concise description of the course content and/or objectives is required. Provider name stated as officially on file with the BRN.

Some health personnel choose to complete courses for skills that are not included in their scope of practice. For example, some health personnel may complete a course on IV therapy, including how to start an IV. This does NOT authorize these persons to add this skill to their practice if this function is not included in their current scope of practice. CE providers should prepare their advertisements so potential applicants are not misled. Failure to monitor this can lead to complaints of false advertising and possible removal of CE providership approval.
 

• The statement "Loma Linda University Medical Center, Staff Development provider #180 is accredited by the California Accreditation of Pharmacy Education (CAPE) as a recognized provider of continuing pharmacy education. Pharmacists completing this course prior to insert date of expiration (3 yrs from course start date) may receive (enter # of hours) credits."

• Loma Linda University Medical Center, Staff Development is a Continuing Professional Education Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Registered dietitians and dietetic technicians, registered will receive ____ continuing professional education units for completion of this program.

  

• The full statement " Loma Linda University Medical Center, Staff Development is recognized as a Continuing Competency Approving Agency by the Physical Therapy Board of California. This program is approved for _______ CE credits." must be included in all advertisements.

• The provider's name.
• The provider's approval number from the board.
• The statement "This course meets the qualifications for _____ hours of continuing professional development credit for Speech-Language Pathologists as required by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board, provider #PDP42."
• The provider's refund policy.
• A clear, concise description of the course content and objectives.
• A statement describing the level of the course content.
• A personal disclosure statement if either the instructor or provider has a personal financial interest in the course content.
