Germs, Bugs, Organisms. They are everywhere! How do we eliminate them? Do we even want to? Below is a comprehensive guideline for the methods that we can use for those times when we DO want to eliminate them, as well as information regarding approved disinfectants and cleaning products.
Hospital Approved Disinfectant List
Clinical Epidemiology and Infection Prevention will review requests for disinfectants and cleaning products. Approval will be based on appropriateness for surface being cleaned/disinfected, written procedures, MSDS availability, commercial availability of product, and manufacturer’s directions. Please submit a Hospital Approved Disinfectant/Cleaning Product Request Form to the Clinical Epidemiology and Infection Prevention department.
