Bus Stop Schedule

The Clinical Laboratory Moves to 2-hour Bus Stop Phlebotomy Schedules

Effective June 10, 2015, the laboratory began collecting routine draws every two hours between 0100 and 2400. Even-numbered floors get drawn on the even hours and odd-numbered floors get drawn on the odd hours.
Routine morning collections will be made at 0400 for even-numbered floors and 0500 for odd-numbered floors.

Routine evening collections will be made at 1600 for even-numbered floors and 1700 for odd-numbered floors.

Concurrent with this change, an initiative targeted by the Medical Staff Executive Committee went live. This change was to define the priorities available for test orders to those most appropriate for the test being drawn. All tests will be available on a ‘Routine’ basis and will be collected at the next regular bus stop. Tests critical to patient care will also be available on a ‘STAT’ basis. Tests where timing affects the clinical value will be available on a ‘Timed’ basis.
