Our Purpose
Unit 5700 is a 25 bed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) providing comprehensive 24-hour state-of-the-art nursing care to infants through adolescents with serious illness, injury, or post-operative needs. The PICU is a tertiary referral center for critically ill children in the four-county region and provides Level 1 trauma care. Some of the most commonly treated conditions include:
- Respiratory diseases, compromise, and failure
- Multi-organ system dysfunction and failure
- Trauma
- Sepsis
- Neurological compromise and diseases
- Post-operative care
