Student Training and Professional Learning Experiences

At LLUH:

  • Medical student training is managed by the LLU School of Medicine
  • Dental student training is managed by LLU School of Dentistry
  • All other student training and professional learning experiences (clinical and non-clinical) are managed by the Manager of Academic Relations, Staff Development.

LLUH personnel and providers are requested to refer schools and/or students to the appropriate department as listed above.

The following are considered student training or professional learning experiences (non-medical and non-dental) at LLUH:

  • Students currently enrolled in an academic program and who require pre-professional training to meet graduation or course requirements.
  • Students who require training hours in order to receive academic or course credit.
  • Post-professional trainees who have already graduated but require post professional training hours to be state licensed.
  • Post-professional trainees who desire advanced training from LLUH hospital clinicians, usually arranged as a business agreement between LLUH and the professional's sponsoring employer.

For students managed by Staff Development, please review the LLUH Student Training Protocol for detailed information on student training at LLUH medical facilities and shared services departments.  The protocol will guide you through the steps to make a training request.

For visiting (non-LLU) students, a Visiting Student Training Request Form is required.  The form must be completed by school/program on behalf of the student.   See the LLUH Student Training Protocol for instructions.

LLU students are required to follow up with their LLU program in order to train at a LLUH hospital, clinic or shared services department.

The Student INFO Book is the orientation manual for students who have been cleared and approved to train at a LLUH medical facility and Shared Service department by Staff Development.
