Competencies Library

Welcome to the Staff Development Competency Library.  This library includes competencies that have been submitted to Staff Development for system wide use.   All Staff Development Library Competencies are available through the OWL Portal for online completion, testing, automatic grading and automatic tracking in the employee’s OWL history.  Department specific paper/pencil competencies are no longer part of the Staff Development Competency Library.

As institutional documents that are continually studied by staff, the competencies in the Staff Development Competency Library are reviewed and revised when changes are needed or every three years, whichever comes first.  Lead authors and editors are expected to consult with content experts when content is reviewed and revised. 

To complete a competency from the online Staff Development Competency Library, please log into the OWL Portal.  To register, go to Self Registration and use the Key Word Search function.
