Digital Health Strategy
The Digital Health team works to advance digitally enabled care that expands patient support tools, reduces administrative burden, and improves clinic efficiencies for providers and clinic staff alike. Our strategy remains focused on the four pillars below:

Telehealth services
Telehealth Services available at LLUH include:
- Video Visits
- Real-time, face-to-face, live synchronous with video and audio telecommunications.
- A variety of codes are permitted for use. E/M codes use for office visits are permitted. For Therapy and other services, review the specific guidance on codes.
- Telephone Visits
- Real-time, synchronous audio only telecommunications.
- CPT codes 99441-99443 are typically used for billing Audio-Only visits. The billing preference varies by payor, review the payor grid for details.
- Electronic Visit (E-Visit):
- E-Visit services are patient-initiated request or inquiries for services using a patient portal, telephone, email, or other digitally supported telecommunications. E-Visits are a digital assessment service that require a clinical decision for non-urgent, low acuity medical issues by a health care provider.
- CPT codes 99421-99423 are typically used for billing E-Visits (“online digital evaluation and management service”).
- Electronic Consult (E-Consult):
- E-Consult services are health care provider initiated or inquiries for consultative services using an electronic health record (EHR), web-based portal, telephone, email, or other digitally supported telecommunications. E-Consults are intended to improve access to specialty expertise without the need for an in-person visit or synchronous interaction between the patient and health care specialist.
- CPT codes 99446-99449, 99451 are typically used for billing E-Consults (“interprofessional internet consultations”).
