Our Purpose
As an important part of the Trauma Team, our Emergency Radiology technologists aim to provide rapid images for the diagnosis of acute conditions. We provide service to patients from both the adult and pediatric emergency departments.
Our patients are often injured and in pain, and our technologists make every possible effort to obtain high quality diagnostic images while minimizing the patient’s discomfort.
ER Radiology consists of two digital diagnostic rooms and one digital portable machine. The majority of emergency exams are performed inside the diagnostic room, although some exams may be done portably when needed. The digital portable machine also is used in the trauma room for instant imaging of activated trauma patients. Panorex exams must be performed in MC Radiology.
Emergency Department (ED) fluoroscopic exams are performed at MC Radiology. After-hours ED fluoroscopy requires a consult from the on-call radiologist (amion.com) and will be performed at MC Radiology.
