Understanding LGBTQ+

As we journey through the calendar into June, we invite you to recognize LGBTQ+ Inclusion Month. This month, we acknowledge those who identify as LGBTQ+ in our community. Whether you take time to participate in one of the planned events below or do your own learning, may we all find belonging. Here are some of this month’s activities:
Micah 6:8 – Transcending Gender: A Conversation Exploring the Multifaceted Experiences of Transgender Individuals

- This month’s installment is Transcending Gender: A Conversation Exploring the Multifaceted Experiences of Transgender Individuals. The event’s presenters are P.K. Kittipha, Esther Loewen, and Talolo Lepale.

- Thursday, June 6 - 5:00 p.m.
- Location: Councilors Student Pavilion
- SAGA, the Sexuality and Gender Alliance, aims to foster student understanding of queer history, culture, and healthcare, as well as expressions of cultural humility by providing leadership, programs, and service.
- Join us for a light meal and fellowship. Meet SAGA leadership and find out how you can support this group.
Looking ahead, we are excited to recognize various Heritage Months and days of recognition throughout the year:
June 19 – Juneteenth
September – Hispanic Heritage Month
October – Disability Awareness Month
November – Native American Heritage Month
November 11 – Veteran’s Day
December 1 – World AIDS Day
