New changes to the tuition reimbursement benefit

LLUH is committed to helping our employees further their education and professional development more effectively. We are pleased to announce new changes to our tuition reimbursement policy that took effect January 2024. These modifications simplify the process and provide greater flexibility.
Changes for hospital, SS, and UHC employees:
- Tuition Reimbursement Structure: We are transitioning from a per-unit reimbursement model to a flat dollar limit.
- Annual Benefit Limit: An annual cap of $5,250 will be set for both undergraduate and graduate programs, covering tuition and textbooks.
- San Manuel Gateway College: This institution will now be included as an eligible entity where employees can utilize their tuition reimbursement benefits within the flat dollar limit.
- Micro-Credentials: Eligibility for tuition reimbursement is extended to include micro-credentials, aligning with the established flat dollar limit.
- Submission Deadline: Reimbursement requests must be submitted within 90 days from completion of coursework to be eligible.
- Submission Process: Reimbursement requests for coursework completed in 2024 and beyond to be submitted through LLEAD.
Changes for LLU employees:
- Tuition Reimbursement Structure: LLU employees and their spouses will be transitioning from a per-unit reimbursement model to a flat dollar limit.
- Annual Benefit Limit: The annual tuition and textbook reimbursement limit will also be $5,250 for undergraduate and graduate programs.
- San Manuel Gateway College: LLU employees will also be able to apply for their benefits at San Manuel Gateway College under the new structure.
- Micro-Credentials: Micro-credentials will now be recognized for tuition reimbursement within the same financial parameters.
- Benefit Period Adjustment: We will align our benefit limits with the calendar/tax year instead of the fiscal year.
- Submission Deadline: Reimbursement requests must be submitted within 90 days from completion of coursework to be eligible.
- Submission Process: Reimbursement requests for coursework completed in 2024 and beyond to be submitted through LLEAD.
