Now, Report Suspicious Emails from Any Device!

Whether you are using Outlook on your PC, laptop, smartphone, or tablet to keep up with your emails, you can easily report a suspicious email by clicking on a button that is available within the “CAUTION” banner displayed for all emails from an external sender.

In addition to tagging emails from external senders with the [EXTERNAL] prefix in the subject line, you will now see a Report Suspicious button displayed within the warning banner.

As shown above, note that the system will identify two types of senders:

  • External Sender — you have previously received emails from this external sender.
  • Untrusted Sender — you have not previously corresponded with the sender. Pay extra attention to these messages!

We encourage you to use this new feature when you come across a suspicious email. It will be sent immediately to our advanced threat protection system for automated analysis. If the email is determined to be malicious, the system will automatically recall and delete it from our email system, in addition to blocking future deliveries. This allows us to rapidly respond to these threats before they cause further harm and disruptions. Your assistance plays a vital part in keeping us cybersafe.

More details about this feature are available here. If you have any questions, please email InfoSecOps@llu.edu.
