Updated: Blood/body fluid post-exposure process

Effective June 1, 2023, the Occupational Medicine Center (OMC) will be the primary point of care for employees who have experienced a needlestick/blood and body fluid exposure. These efforts are to support the Emergency Department and Advanced Urgent Care during these challenging times and to continue to provide excellent care to our employees. Click here for a quick reference flyer of the new process.

Please note the following exceptions:

The Emergency Department will continue to provide care for the following Blood and Body Fluid (BBF) exposure cases for ONLY:

  • Registry, travel, and contract staff
  • SAC employees (as they need to be seen as regular patients)

Advanced Urgent Care will continue to provide care for the following BBF exposure cases 24/7, per previous guidance:

  • Loma Linda University students
