N-95 Masks - new brands coming soon
Industrial supplier 3M earlier this year ceased the manufacturing of its 1870 N-95. LLUH has done an amazing job at preserving our stock for our staff who weren’t able to transition to the 1860 or other models over the last eight months. We are at a critical state and only have a few days of supply left on hand. LLUH must immediately convert all 3M N-95 wearers to either the new Honeywell mask or the Ameritech mask. Environmental Health and Safety is going to be testing all of these healthcare providers over the next several days to accomplish this.
We are distributing the list of 1870 users to their administrators to assist in setting up to be re-Fit tested. Along with the test, you are required annually to have a Medical Surveillance assessment completed and signed to present when you test. If you haven’t had any significant physical changes and you have been assessed within the last year, you are fine. LLUH is committed in continuing to provide safe and effective PPE for our frontline staff as we manage the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate your support and adherence to this change.
If you aren’t contacted by your leadership, you do not need to do anything. If there are questions, please ask your leadership or contact EH&S at ext. 14019 or email at EHS@LLU.edu.
