New taskforce to provide on-campus event oversight
Loma Linda University Health has taken all county and state officials' recommendations very seriously in response to the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in and around our region. Since the pandemic hit, we have postponed, canceled or created virtual formats for our large-scale events and meetings. Loma Linda University Health is currently not hosting or encouraging any public gatherings given our status as a county and the number of current COVID-19 cases. While we were unaware of the Loma Linda University Church event on Saturday night, we have assigned a task force to address how any events held physically on our campus are reviewed and approved. We currently have a system for approving certain locations on campus; however, this will be a comprehensive process for all locations. All event requests will be vetted through this system, including oversight from senior leadership, to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients and our community.
