Revised visitation policy
On March 20, we changed our visitation policy to no longer allow visitors in any of our adult hospitals. This policy remains in effect; however, we will be revising the way humanitarian exceptions are approved. Beginning on Sunday, April 5, requests for these exceptions will be routed to the command center, who will then coordinate with the Chief of Medical Staff or her designee. No exceptions without approval from the Chief of Medical Staff or her designee will be made.
In addition, there will be no visitors allowed for patients under investigation for COVID-19 or patients that test positive for COVID-19 at any time. We will make every effort to connect the patients with their family/caregiver virtually when possible.
Although this decision is difficult, the safety of our employees and patients remains our top priority.
Revised Fit testing
Please remember N-95 masks are for identified patient care areas or specific support departments that have been approved. Effective immediately, all employees arriving for fit testing must have written approval from their clinical department head with them. If you have any questions if this applies to your area please call the command center.
If you require fit testing, please obtain written approval from your department head and go to Children’s Hospital 1830/32, Monday through Friday from 0700-0900 and 1400-1600. If testing needs are outside of this timeframe, please contact Environmental Health and Safety, Monday through Friday from 0800–1700. All other after-hours needs can contact Respiratory Care at pager 1963.
