LLUH to host PossAbilities U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial on July 7

LLUH will host the PossAbilities U.S. Paralympics Cycling Time Trial sponsored by IEHP on our campus on Sunday, July 7 at 8 a.m. Employees and the public are invited to witness the only domestic Paralympic Para-cycling Qualifying Race, where athletes compete for a spot to represent Team USA this summer in the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
The race will surround the University and Medical Center and extend to Barton Road, so please be aware that there will be multiple road closures beginning in the early morning and extending to noon on Sunday, July 7.
The following road closures will be in effect:
- 12 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Shepardson Dr. from Bellaire St. to Mound St.
- 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.
- Rolling closures will be in effect in the following areas
- Stewart St. from Mound St. to Anderson St.
- Anderson St. from Stewart St. to Barton Rd.
- Campus St. from University Ave. to Barton Rd.
- University Ave. from Campus St. to Barton Rd.
- Barton Rd. from University Ave./Oakwood Dr. to Mountain View Ave.
- Rolling closures will be in effect in the following areas
- 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Barton Rd. east bound lane from Mountain View Ave. to University Ave.
- Barton Rd. west bound lane will be closed from Benton St. to University Ave.
- Stewart St. from Mound St. to Anderson St.
- Anderson St. from Stewart St. to Barton Rd.
- Campus St. from University Ave. to Barton Rd.
- University Ave. from Campus St. to Barton Rd.
- San Juan Dr.
- San Mateo Dr.
- Yardley Pl.
- Rosarito Dr.
- Sierra Vista Dr.
- Mound St.
Street closures are necessary to ensure the safety of participants in the PossAbilities Time Trial. We are sure that everyone wishes all the competitors a safe event.
Traffic will be detoured as follows:
West bound Barton Road:
Head north on Mountain View Ave. to west on Redlands Blvd. to south on Waterman Ave. then west on Washington St. Emergency department traffic will be allowed to access Benton St. and use Prospect Ave. to enter the emergency department as directed by the Sheriff’s Department Officers.
East bound Barton Road:
Head north to Waterman Ave. to east on Redlands Blvd. to south on Mountain View Ave. then east on Barton Rd. Emergency Department traffic will be allowed to access Barton Rd. (west-bound lane) as directed by the Sheriff’s Department Officers.
Residents on Barton Rd. are asked to follow the direction of the Sheriff’s Department personnel and City of Loma Linda Public Works for access directions.

Traffic will be allowed to cross Barton Rd. at Campus St. as instructed by the Sheriff Deputy.
Traffic will be allowed to cross University Ave. at Campus St. as instructed by the Sheriff Deputy.
Traffic will be allowed to cross Anderson St. at Prospect Ave. as instructed by the Sheriff Deputy.
Hospital employees will be allowed to access the P1 & P2 parking structures via Lawton Ave. & Campus St. as instructed by the Sheriff Deputy. Must show employee ID.
Parking for Drayson Center patrons will be available on the corner of Benton St. and Shepardson Dr., please note the parking area will only be accessible via Benton St.
Barton Rd. from Mountain View Ave. to Benton St. will be reduced to single-lane traffic for east and west bound traffic.

Parking lot closures:
The School of Dentistry parking lot will close Saturday, July 6 at 2 p.m. and will re-open Sunday, July 7 at 2 p.m. with the gates down through Monday, July 8 at 5 p.m. Note, this lot remains a paid lot and anyone who parks in the lot is subject to parking fees at time of exit.
