Hospitality Lounge marks four years of service to patients

LLUMC’s Hospitality Lounge, located in the lobby of Hinshaw Towers, provides a welcoming, safe location for discharged patients who are awaiting the arrival of their transportation. 

Hospitality Lounge staff have served more than 1,000 patients in the past 12 months and more than 1,500 since its founding. The lounge helps facilitate patient discharges and opening that bed for a newly admitted patient. During the early days of the lounge’s operation, just 16% of eligible patients were transferred. Today, the lounge received 57% of eligible discharged patients, close to their overall 60% goal. 

“Exceptional teamwork and unwavering dedication have propelled the Lounge to unprecedented heights during our four years of service,” said Torey Evangelista, BSN, RN, Director of Patient Placement and Transfer Center. “The past year’s accomplishments are certainly cause for celebration, and we eagerly look forward to the possibilities the coming year holds.”
