Celebrating Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month

As we journey through the calendar into May, we invite you to recognize and honor Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. We invite you to participate in this month’s activities:  

Interest Meeting 

  • Wednesday, May 15 – Noon to 12:30 p.m. 

  • Interested in starting an AANHPI Affinity group on campus? Join this interest meeting via Zoom!

BollyX Class  

  • Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Drayson Center. 

  • Stop by on Tuesday nights in the month of May and join a fun Bollywood dance exercise class.   

Yin Stretch Class  

  • Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Drayson Center. 

  • Stop by Monday nights in the month of May and join a stretch class. 

We encourage you to visit a locally owned AANHPI restaurant or small business in the community this month. 

Looking ahead, we are excited to recognize various Heritage Months and days of recognition throughout the year: 

June – LGBTQ+ Recognition Month 

June 19 – Juneteenth 

September – Hispanic Heritage Month 

October – Disability Awareness Month 

November – Native American Heritage Month 

November 11 – Veteran’s Day 

December 1 – World AIDS Day
