Beware of text and phone call scams regarding gift cards or fund transfers

Information Services is aware of the increasing rate in text and phone call scams that are reaching employees of companies across the nation, including Loma Linda University Health. The trend is that scammers are purporting to be a senior executive leader (President, CEO, COO, CFO, VP, etc.) asking for funds to be transferred or for gift cards to be sent.

Please notify infosecops@llu.edu if you suspect you may be the target of one of these scams. Information Services would appreciate receiving as much information as possible about the interaction in order to gather intelligence about the scammers’ latest tactics and to share that collective intelligence with cyber law enforcement agencies for further action.
