Bereavement leave policy to include reproductive loss

LLUH strives to provide work-life balance for all employees and recognizes the need to provide bereavement leave to support employees who have experienced the death of a family member or a reproductive loss. We recognize that a miscarriage, stillbirth, or unsuccessful assisted reproduction is a traumatic event requiring a period of recovery.
Effective January 1, our bereavement leave policy is being modified to specifically include up to five days of protected leave for a reproductive loss, including a failed adoption, failed surrogacy, miscarriage, stillbirth, or a failed in-vitro fertilization, intrauterine insemination, or other unsuccessful assisted reproduction. With this change, benefit-eligible employees are also eligible for up to 24 hours of pay during a bereavement leave for a reproductive loss.
For more details, employees may view the revised policy on the One Portal in PolicyTech or contact the HRM department at Human Resources at (909) 651-4001, ext. 14001, or humanresourcemgmt@llu.edu.
