Children's Hospital Visitor Guidelines
We continue to monitor prevalence of COVID-19 cases in our community and would like to implement a system to modify visitation based on prevalence and incidence of COVID-19 as well as the volume of positive patients admitted to LLUCH. In our current state, although two designated visitors are allowed to visit patients, only two parents or legal guardians are allowed at bedside at any given time for the duration of the admission.
A guideline has also been established to allow exceptions for compassionate visits. Based on assessment of our community and admission rates across CH, effective Monday, Oct. 12, two designated parents or legal guardians may be at bedside at the same time.
The following guidelines will be in place:
- Visitation is restricted to two designated parents/legal guardians for the duration of the admission.
- Maternity Services and NICU will continue to implement visitation guidelines based on the specific needs of these patient populations.
- Visitation in LLUCH pediatric perioperative areas including PACU and OSC will mirror this guideline.
- Exceptions for compassionate visits will continue to be managed using the current process and according to the parameters that have already been established.
Note: visitation is also at the discretion of the unit and that there should always be an escalation when visitors pose a threat to patient or staff safety
