Masking guidelines for patients and visitors
Masking Guidelines Clarification: Upon entry into any of our hospitals employees and visitors will be provided a surgical mask. Patients will be provided a surgical mask if they are entering into an outpatient facility or area.
Changing area for MC & CH
Hospital-provided scrubs are available for employees working in the ED or COVID-19 designated units. Employees who wish to change into these scrubs before their shift may use the locker rooms off the A-level hallway, just beyond room A217. Upon shift completion, employees can change back into their non-clinical attire and leave the scrubs to be washed.
Employee tips
To keep employees informed on all that can be done to protect themselves, their patients, and their family, we’d like to provide you with some additional tips to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
While you are in the hospital:
- As always, wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds. Proper hand hygiene is often most efficient and effective when short sleeves are worn.
- Beards should be shaved if they affect the fit of your mask to ensure it is appropriately protecting you.
- Properly doff and discard PPE when you are exiting patient rooms.
As you exit the hospital:
- Discard all PPE as you exit the hospital.
- Take your shoes off and leave them in your trunk when driving home.
- If you have utilized hospital provided scrubs, change out of scrubs before leaving the hospital. Consider changing out of attire worn in the hospital before you enter your home.
- Consider going straight to the shower when you get home.
Additionally, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers guidance on how to properly disinfect your home and workspaces as part of everyday prevention. Thank you for all you are doing to help protect yourself, our patients and our community.
Media Requests to Providers
It has been brought to the attention of the Command Center that media has reached out to providers within our hospitals seeking COVID-19 information.
Please note, Loma Linda University Health actively enforces its policies regarding all interaction on our official and personal social networking accounts and with external entities, including news media, production crews or outside vendors.
Media and other external requests: Outside media is not permitted on the LLUH campus without prior approval and accompaniment by the public relations team. If you are contacted or approached by a member of the media or other outside entity, the following guidelines are in place and must be followed per Loma Linda University Health policy:
- Even if you know the information, do not provide it. There is no such thing as “off the record.”
- Respectfully direct them to contact the public relations team via email at pr@llu.edu.
- If after hours, direct them to the operator at 909-558-4000 to page the public relations specialist on-call.
- If you find a member of the news media on the premises unaccompanied by one of our public relations representatives, please call security at 909-558-4320 or ext. 44320.
