San Bernardino County Order
San Bernardino County has ordered that individuals working in healthcare settings should self-screen for the following symptoms and not report to work if symptoms are present. This is a change from our previous institutional guidelines.
Do NOT come to work if you have the following symptoms:
If you have mild to moderate symptoms related to OR other respiratory illness such as:
- Fever (Temp > 37.8°C/100.0°F)
- Chills
- Shortness of breath
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Not feeling well
- Sneezing
- Coughing
- Gastrointestinal symptoms such as:
- Soft stool
- Stomach cramps
N-95 Masks and Makeup
Employees are reminded that if you work in a clinical assignment that requires an N-95 mask, please do not wear makeup. Makeup soils the masks and renders them unable to be properly cleaned and disinfected for future reuse should that be required.
Children’s Hospital Visitor Reminders
Children’s Hospital will allow one parent at the bedside at a time. Parents may rotate out once every 24 hours. They are not allowed to be on the unit at the same time. Visitors will be screened at the grand hallway, a second screening will be completed on the unit with an added temperature check. Once screened, they will receive a green band. Bands will be removed if a visitor leaves the hospital, and they will have to rescreen upon entry. For PUI and COVID-19 positive patients, only one family member is allowed, and they cannot leave the room. If they leave, they are not allowed to return until cleared negative or the patient is discharged.
Please note, Maternity Services has additional guidelines in place for their specific area that will be communicated directly to those patients.
LLU Aid
To lighten the tremendous burden on Loma Linda University Health providers, several students from the School of Medicine have formed a platform called LLU Aid. This group coordinates and mobilizes students to support and serve the anticipatory, urgent needs of the entire LLUH workforce during this COVID-19 situation. This project consists of a student volunteer-to-healthcare provider matching process where students can volunteer to help providers who request help with errands including grocery or food delivery, pet sitting, and/or wellness support such as, prayer, Bible study or check-ins.
All services as listed above are now available by student volunteers and forms for you to request support are online at lluaid.com. Please direct any questions or comments at lluaid2020@gmail.com.
Collaboration Tools
The Information Services team has created a guide for the tools that are available for collaboration purposes when working remotely or limiting physical proximity.
In addition, employees are to be aware of attacks against Zoom sessions, known as Zoom-Bombing. Please refer to the following tip sheet to prevent them while using Zoom.
Finally, employees are reminded to only use these approved and supported tools; using any other tool they may have signed-up for personally is prohibited and puts our organization at risk.
Tune in to 89.7 KSGN
Employees are invited to tune in to 89.7 KSGN this evening at 7 p.m. to join in a special worship program dedicated to our local healthcare teams, hospitals, patients and community. Carl Ricketts will be leading prayers for Loma Linda University Health.
