COVID-19 news for Friday, April 17

Mask reminder for clinical employees
When you exit the facility at the conclusion of your shift, please make sure you are appropriately disposing of your mask and other PPE. As you enter and exit your shift, we recommend you wear a homemade mask or other face covering in accordance with county health recommendations. Face coverings do not need to be medical grade — fabric masks or bandanas are acceptable alternatives. PPE provided to you during your shift should not be worn to or from the parking lot.
Fit Testing
For all staff that need to be fit tested for a N95 mask or be re-fit tested, the location and times have been changed. Starting on Monday the 20th of April the location for Fit Testing will be held in the lower level of the Wong Kerlee building. Additionally, there will only be one session held per day in the mornings from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Just-in-time testing will still be handled by Respiratory Therapy by paging #1963.
Food donations
We are grateful to the numerous organizations that have donated food and drinks for employees. As a reminder, ALL food donations must be coordinated between the Office of Philanthropy and Food Services. Please contact Erica Goetz at 909-558-3522 or Matt Miller at 909-558-3582 if a group or individual reaches out to you and wishes to donate food or beverages.
The PPE prayer
As we continue to care for patients during this difficult time, the Office of General Counsel wanted to share a prayer for our employees written by the Pastoral Care Department at Baptist Health South Florida.
Lord, as I put on my eye protection, I pray that You open my eyes to see Your face in each patient I care for.
As I put on my mask, I ask that Your words are on my tongue, to speak Your wisdom and comfort.
As I put on my gown, please wrap Your arms around me and give me strength to strengthen others.
As I put on my gloves, I ask that You steady my hands to do Your work.
As I remove my protective equipment, I implore You to remove any traces of my selfishness and pride.
And when I wash my hands, please wash away my fears and doubts.
Protect me, Lord, so that I may protect others.
Grant me courage; I am here to do Your will.
Amen!
