COVID-19 news for Tuesday, April 14

Return-to-work criteria
We have updated and integrated CDC guidance and San Bernardino County symptom screening orders into our return-to-work criteria. This algorithm (PDF file) may be helpful in planning return-to-work, both in your care of patients and if you get sick with symptoms that prevent you from reporting to work.
Revised outside food policy
We will now allow employees to bring in individual portions of outside food or beverages for themselves.
Numerous organizations in the area have been donating food and drinks for employees, and all of those donations are coordinated between the Office of Philanthropy and Food Services. All donation containers are sanitized before they are delivered to the units to minimize contact as much as possible. Please contact 909-558-4000, ext. 33522, if a group or individual reaches out to you and wishes to donate food or beverages.
Food delivery to individuals or units in the hospital will still not be allowed, as we are still restricting visitors.
Schedule an appointment to give blood
We encourage our community, employees and students to continue donating blood if they are healthy, feeling well and free of respiratory illness symptoms. Schedule your appointment with LifeStream Blood Bank at LStream.org or call 800-879-4484. Please note that the previously scheduled on-campus blood drive on April 29 has now been canceled.
Telephone cleaning
Please do not use non-alcohol wipes or soap and water to clean desktop phones. The excessive moisture damages the components. Alcohol wipes should be used to clean phones or other desktop components like keyboards, a computer mouse or headsets.
