Clinical Laboratory Point-of-Care downtime
Point-of-Care will have a 5-hour downtime on Monday, April 13 at 0800. This will impact all Loma Linda University Health hospitals (MC, CH, ECH, SH, BMC and Murrieta) and hospital-based outpatient locations and clinics.
The devices impacted by this upgrade are:
- Glucose Inform II
- Hemocue (hemoglobin)
- Urine clinitek status (urine dipsticks and hcg)
- Coaguchek (Coumadin clinic)
- Hemochron Elite (ACT)
Users will be able to continue using the devices as usual. However, during the downtime, results will not cross over to the patients’ charts in LLEAP.
New patients admitted during the downtime will not be available on the devices, and the patient names will only display after the POC system is back up and synchronized with our registration system.
As a temporary measure, users have the option of entering the results manually in LLEAP using a nursing note if they must.
If you have any questions, you may contact the Service Desk at ext. 48889.
Commencement update
We have made the difficult decision to postpone our usual graduation ceremonies in May and June due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have now developed plans to hold both baccalaureate and commencement programs on Labor Day weekend, September 5 and 6, 2020. While we recognize that some of our graduates will not be able to return on these dates due to new assignments, we do hope that most will be able to come and celebrate with us. We plan to have baccalaureates on Saturday and several separate commencement ceremonies on Sunday, depending on the number of graduates able to attend. We will provide additional details in a few weeks.
We also plan to produce a digital graduation program, with each graduate’s picture, that will be available on our website.
Virtual Easter service
